There is a review of NEC, Eizo, Lacie, Apple, plus a few more in a recent Seybold report.

Good reading. Interesting to see all the top LCDs listed as having a larger gamut that a Barco Calibrator. Screen uniformity does seem to be an issue. But I've never seen a CRT with a completely uniform screen. Interesting comments on the Apple LCDs.
