Greg,
You mention UV inks. However, it is not clear which kind of UV inks you
mean.
There are inks that are cured (dried) by UV lights. The reflection
properties of these inks are like all other pigment inks. There is no
concern about how they effect measurement with respect to color
management. To the best of my knowledge they don't cause any problems.
When exposed to UV they absorb the UV. They do not shift the energy into
the visible part of the spectrum that would effect measurement.
There are also inks that fluoresce when exposed to UV. These are used to
give the impression that the ink is glowing. You can forget using color
management with these inks.

Hi,
In a recent post someone asked about UV inks.
I was so busy ignoring all the junk about the color purple that I may have
missed useful replies.
My company will begin working with UV inks very soon. I'm wondering if
list readers can recommend readings, web sites, forums, etc where one can
learn more about this. I'm specifically looking for info on whether / how
/ if color management theories, practices, or planned developments address
this topic in terms of deliberate usage (instead of the problems of UV and
methods of filtering it out.)
While this may seem an obscure need it might interest readers to know that
every day most of you carry around printed products which have UV inks
applied to them. UV printing is a very widespread practice but to many
seems - um - invisible.
Thanks!
Greg
