Dear list members,
I'd be interested in any experience reports, or just plain opinions, on the
Epson ColorBase software, for which there is some info on
http://tinyurl.com/z6f6f
This software is for use with the 2400, 4800, 7800 and 9800 printers.
>From reading the info on this site, you need to print a target of 264
patches, for every (Epson) paper type that you will use, then after reading
these with a suitable spectro,
"The calibration data file is inserted into your Epson printer driver's look
up tables (LUTs) that drive the colour halftoning process."
So it appears that (a) this updates the driver, not the printer firmware (b)
will have no effect if you use the driver in 'No Color Adjustment' mode,
hence won't make a difference to custom profiles made for third party papers
in NCA mode.
Thanks in anticipation for any comments.
