As you explore this, bear in mind that PS limits greatly the number of
observations that can be used in a transfer curve (to circa 14).  So the
profile generated is limited by the confined stimulus-response data. (I
generate greyscale profiles from as many as 101 observations using QTR
Create ICC.)
