Hi Steve.
I just don't keep it lying around unprotected on my desk or anywhere else, and as soon as I am finished using the spectro I carefully put it away in the EyeOne case, wrapped in its plastic bag for extra protection. I handle the tile carrier by the edges, of course, never ever touching or brushing the tile with my fingers. I also make absolutely sure to keep it far away from any liquids, and never place anything on top of it (not even paper).
If there is dust on the tile, I blow it off with an air can, very carefully, so that I do not spray any moist frozen air from the can onto the tile.
Whatever I do, I never ever touch the tile directly with anything, because I figure that this could create a film of deposits that would affect the calibration.
Any advice from Gretag on the subject?
Regards.
