I have advised a few people on printing in the orient.
In all cases I suggest the same thing. Get an ICC profile from them that
is representative of their process.
So far the printers have been eager to provide this and even run targets
to let me create one if they didn't have one.
Gray balance and ink hue are different from what we experience in the
US.
Most notably the shift to the "green" on the gray balance.
Without the profile to enable proofing here that would simulate their
output, it could be very frustrating sending proofs back and forth to
make corrections.
It is a good idea to proof locally. A revision cycle with a printer half
a world away is painful.
