Title: Re: Fluorescent bulbs for
viewing
If you are lucky, tubes are marked with the codes below. For
example a L36W/935 means that the watts are 36, it is CIE 1A
(9=Cri 90-100) and color temperature 35 (refers to white
3500K).
CIE color rendering index (CRI/Ra8, 8 samples):
9= CIE 1A (CRI/Ra8 90-100)
8= CIE 1B (CRI/Ra8 80-89)
7= CIE 2A (CRI/Ra8 70-79)
Color temperature, kelvin (K):
35= White (3500K)
40= Cool White (cool white 4000K)
50= Daylight (daylight 5000-5400K)
60= Daylight (daylight 6000K)
65= Biolux (6500K)
The T8 in your code points to the tube type that is the old
"fat pipe", the newer T5 thin tubes are very hard(=sofar
impossible) to find as 5000K and Ra >90. In the T8 tubes I would
not hesitate to recommend the excellent Just Normlicht proGraphic
tubes that have a CRI of 97 and chromacity tolerances of 0.005 (ISO
3664:2000).

Trying to select the fluorescent lighting
for our shop and have found
the following bulbs to possibly meet our
needs.
Philips F32 T8/TL950
and
Graphiclite 100 color viewing
lamps.
Are there better options than
these?
If not which bulb would you
use?
TIA for any help.
