Hi list members
I am having problems with OS 10.4 and Eye One Match monitor calibration
with Apple Cinema Displays.
Depending on how you adjust the brightness of an Apple Cinema Display
during the calibration process, OS 10.4.4 may reload the old monitor
profile's video card LUT's back into the video card replacing the video
card LUT's that Eye One match loads prior to this step. This is making
fine adjustments of our of our Apple Cinema Displays brightness in the
"calibrate luminance" step impossible.
Any work around that list members are using?
------------------------
Monitor ACD (17")
OS 10.4.4 (Our Mac labs just been moved from OS 10.3.9 to 10.4.4 )
Eye One Match 3.3
- Run eye on match (3.3)
- At steps 'calibration settings' and 'calibrate eye-one'
Eye one match loads the video card LUT's with what i assume are the
user set calibration settings?
- At Step = “position eye one”:
Eye One Match loads the video card with a new LUT (Linear?).
- At Step = "calibrate luminance"
If I adjust monitor brightness with F14/F15 keys (something I normally
wouldn't do) the Video Card LUT’s remain untouched. No problem dropping
the monitor luminance to within 2 or 5 candela of my target luminance
using the F14/F15 keys.
However…
if I open apple’s system-preferences / display to do a fine brightness
slider adjustment, the apple display control pane re-loads my old
monitor profiles LUT’s back into into the video card. Depending on the
monitor profile I have selected, the monitor luminance drops by around
20 candelas and I cannot even get close to my target luminance any
more, even punching brightness slider back up to max brightness.
under 10.3.9 the the monitor profile's video card LUT's only got loaded
when a new profile was selected, Not simply when the monitor
preference pane got touched.
Regards
Peter Miles
