without wishing to divert this into a
huge monitor discussion, at the other end of the scale Dell has just announced
its 30” monitor, the first competition to Apple’s 30” cinema.
It’s cheaper at $2100, and easily
discounted by 15% to $1870 or so. quite a saving on Apple’s $2500 price.
supposedly it’s the a newer panel
than the apple one. of course you need a dual link card for this monitor too.
I know that 30” is not great for
even illumination, but to photo evaluation/display work/impress clients its
very handy.
The new Eizo 24” 1920x1200 which
is not a CG grade, but still very good, is shipping this week. that should be very
good.
and despite Karl Lang’s remarks on
Wide Gamut displays, I’d love a CG220, but its still way too pricey ($5200
ish now) though for some reason is $1000 cheaper in Europe…
I guess Eizo don’t realise what
the first W in WWW stands for? any users out there with personal feedback?
it’s time for an upgrade for me
too, as my Artisan is showing its age, and not sure where to go.
