Hi,
I work for an ad agency where we produce images intended primarily for
publication in magazines. We proof our images using a Kodak Approval XP on a
Lustro Dull stock. Our results here have been excellent in
proof-to-printed-piece match.
Occasionally we need to repurpose those same images for other uses including
outdoor boards and sheetfed posters. Because of that need, our print buyers
are asking us to proof on a whiter sheet than the Lustro Dull. These proofs
would be made after all the color correction for our pub materials has been
completed and approved.
We would like to preserve (as much as possible) the color as it appears on
our Lustro proofs when we proof on the new, whiter stock. We've been
attempting to use a couple of adjustment layers to correct for the new
substrate color with less than desirable results. It seems to me that using
icc profiles for the conversion would be better but I'm unclear as to how to
proceed. We would need to be able to do this conversion in Photoshop (our
version of the Kodak Harlequin rip doesn't support profiles). Any thoughts?
Thanks in advance,
Peter Lindman
