I would think that the quality of the capture device would
significantly influence the gamut--in that I mean that I'm sure there
are some consumer cameras out there that don't fill the sRGB space
and do have poor algorithms to convert to Adobe RGB (making the
original statement uninformed, but at least somewhat true).
I agree with Bruce and Andrew's summation and it sounds like a snake
oil sales job to an unsuspecting public.

Naturally I totally agree. I find it interesting that this "information" is
not only being aimed at photographers but apparently being sponsored in part
by a company that specializes in color management solutions which is a bit
uncomfortable to say the least.
