I was actually referring to the machine's firmware, not the video card's.
Mirroring is absolutely brain-dead signal duplication; like using a splitter
to hook two TVs up to the same cable box. I don't know the details as to how
it's implemented, but I have a feeling getting ColorSync involved in that
code would be a non-trivial task.
