Hi Ken.
These books should get you up to speed:
- "Real World Camera Raw with Adobe Photoshop CS2", by Bruce Fraser -
Peachpit Press, 2005
- "Getting Started with Camera Raw", by Ben Long - Peachpit Press, 2005
The following book is written by a regular on this forum, and contains a
relevant section on Camera RAW:
- "Color Management for Photographers: Hands on Techniques for Photoshop
Users", by Andrew Rodney - Focal Press, 2005
Also, keep an eye out for Aperture, the software recently released by Apple,
which deals very smoothly with RAW images.
Adobe is also in the process of developing an application in the same vein
as Aperture, called Lightroom. It is now in public beta, and can be
downloaded at:

Good luck.
