It could also be said that my SUV is better than your SUV.
But seriously....
Both products work quite well.
And who ever is making those types of statements might have a hidden agenda.
Such as a finders fee or some other sort of payment from EFI.
But before comparing an EFI xf rip to a color burst rip you have to ask
yourself what are you planning to do with the rip. Are you going to do
prepress? Print-for-pay, fine art?
If you are doing prepress then the XF rip might make some sense, but the
results are similar to a Colorburst rip for PDF, PostScript and Tiff types.
However, the XF rip is more complicated to setup and use. Where as the Color
busrt rip is by far more user friendly when using profiles.
If you are doing print for pay then ColorBurst has it all over the XF
product. CB has more robust layout and nesting features.
For fine art, I like the CB screening.
You can also download a two week trial of Colorburst at their web site.
As for the DTP 41 vs the Gretag SpectroScan Table they should both do a good
job of creating profiles. The main difference is that the DTP41 needs
operator assistance and the Gretag solution is unassisted but slower.
Mileage may vary.
