Thanks Terry and Roger for the explanations.
I am in the same boat as Dave and am confused as to why ColorBurst
gives a blanket UV spectro required given, according to Terry's
explanation, that it is required for papers using brighteners but
there are plenty that don't. What if you don't use a paper with
brighteners? Before the latest version of the RIP I used to linearize
(Epson Premium Luster) with my 2 yr old Eye-One and it seemed to be
fine. They told me I can still use it but I would have to re-make the
profile from scratch (which seems ridiculous to re-do what they have
done well). Now I find out that if I use their profiling system I am
even locked into buying the same spectro. If I do that, do I then
have to get a whole new software package as well?
Thanks again for your help!
Jim
