Peter,
If you read my post carefully you'll notice I mention "proofing".
And yet for proofing, you can get good results with a wide range of
diverse black generation parameters in the proofer profile, without
necessarily losing accuracy. That's what the question is about,
specifically for Ultrachrome and K3 inks.

I hate to say it - but it depends what u are trying to achieve- if its point
of sale "u go with what the client likes" if it is for proofing - u either
calibrate the proofers to match the presses - or calibrate the proofers to
match the profile (ISO Coated or what ever they decide in US the world
should use :-
