Anybody know where I can find the calculations to get from L*a*b* to Dot percentage or density?
If you are trying to read dot percentage with a handheld spectrophotometer you can do this in XRite's Colorshop application with a Pulse, EyeOne or a few other spectros. Launch Colorshop, click "Density Scratchpad" and click the "Density Tools" button. Sample the paper's white and 100% density and drag and drop these samples into the "paper" and "solid" boxes. Then you can sample anything else and drag it into the "tint" box and it will calculate the percentage. I hope this is a good tip!
