Hi Marco -
I don't intend to modify the existing workflow, I just intend to
characterize or rather visualize its effects. As a reviewer, I often
want to see how a given piece of equipment would perform for somebody
who is *not* able to profile it, and has to work with a constrained
workflow.
Some people here have suggested I should compute the profile,
then assign it to a file, and this should allow me to soft-proof the
effect of the original workflow being employed.

Hi Edmund.
You
question is not quite clear, at least to me: how do you intend to use
the workflow resulting from measuring the testchart without using the
profile that was built based on the colorimetric results of measuring
the testchart?
If you can please clarify that point, maybe the answer will follow.
Best regards.
