Liz,

I can see the boundary on my monitor. It gets very noticeable as the image is zoomed (for instance, when the patch area is about 4 inches wide on my monitor). Your 72 DPI is certainly not the destination resolution and 16 inch your final image width, so I would say your results will depend on final image size. However, when the image is proofed for CMYK (SWOP v2 for example), the patch visibility goes down significantly.

Thus, for a small printed image (1-2 inches), I would say that you will not see the patch.

If using Photoshop for image editing, you may want to "feather" your selection tool to smooth out the transition.

Could any of you with really well-calibrated monitors take a look at this picture?

I would like to know whether or not you can see the outline/boundary of this "patch"
http://www.kiva.net/~daylight/litefix.showing.lite.thorax.jpg
on the picture above.

On my screen, the boundary is not visible. However, I suspect my screen is too dark.

Please choose one:
1. Yes, it's clearly visible - ugh!
2. I can barely see it, but it will show up in the litho print.
3. I can barely see it, and no one will notice it in print.
4. No, I don't see it.

A private response is fine.
thanks.....
Liz
