Staff Photographer
We are seeking an accomplished digital photographer to join our Creative
Services team. This full-time position manages a digital photography system
and a schedule that meets the various needs of museum staff, from curatorial
to development to education. Responsibilities include:
* Lighting and shooting 2D and 3D works of art for print and ensure
quality production of photographs;
* Photographing a wide variety of events, from public gatherings to
formal evening events, educational events, portraits, children, artists at
work and photographs of museum merchandise;
* Assists other photographers when necessary;
* Develop and maintain all aspects of the digital Image Vault.
* Works with various staff to ascertain rights/licensing for
photographed images and distribute information to editors and production
managers as needed;
* Scans transparencies, slides and prints, as needed.
A BA or BFA and five years of experience in photographing 2D and 3D works of
art are required. The successful candidate will need excellent communication
and interpersonal skills as well as the ability to work in complex
organizations. Experience with web-based data management systems and proven
experience with complex lighting are also essential to success in the job.
