Thanks Andy and Roger,
That was my thought as well, why go to RGB then to CMYK from an Lab image.
But..... the extra complication is the need to hold all images, after first
use in the printed page, in a DAM system in a common colour space and
profile for onward use and repurposing, Adobe RGB has been chosen.
So I guess I will have to convert twice.
