To my knowldege, NewColor7000v2.5 can still run under OSX albeit Jaguar :(
But it runs fine under Windows otherwise. Too bad HDM discontinued it

while ago but it can still be purchased in the US I'm told.
According to Peter Constable, the addition of Lch to Photoshop's Info
palette wouldn't represent a major hurdle, technically. But I feel it
represents one hell hell of a hurdle, symbolically. Politics.
Hi Roger and list,
The addition of Lch would be a major improvement.
Lch corrections are just great. If you know how it works.
Some Photoshop users still don't know how to correct in
other spaces such as Lab.
We know how long it took to make users believe that
Lab corrections are a major tool for image editing.
It will take some time to educate (and retrain) people and
to convince them that Lch is a another great tool to make
better corrections for a number of image improvements
and color changes.
I have been told (but it was never confirmed by Adobe)
that one of the licenses Adobe purchased from Heidelberg
was covering a color correction technique based on Lch.
You could do LinoColor (or NewColor) Lch corrections
in PhotoShop.
Otherwise, some of the former LinoColor users are now
scanning and correcting with SilverFast software.
The origin of the software is Kiel in Germany.
It is the North-German city were the research for Hell,
Linotype-Hell and NexPress Germany was done.
Now, it's the base for Heidelberg's Prinect software
modules covering Color Edits such as the SuperColor
product. The one used for Device Link Profile
transformations from (for example) SWOP to ISOcoated.
Or SWOP to ISOnewspaper.
In that city Kiel.
Perhaps a coincidence.
I hope that Peter Constable has also major influence
on the "Future Feature Feed" of Photoshop.
How about a next version of Photoshop with Lch?
Any supporters?
Regards, Henk
P.S.: The ECI requirement list for Digital Proofing
Tests indicates that not only DeltaE differences but
also Delta H differences are measured for the
certification of digital proofs.
They expect that users know what H means for
the appearance of digital proofs.
