Hello
I have via Eizo UK got a loan ColorEdge CE240W to 'play' with for a few
days, so as promised, some comments.
I am comparing it with my ColorEdge CG210, both screens are running on G4
PowerMacs, and calibrated to D65, 140cd, 2.2 g for the CE240W and L*g for
the CG210.
The Color Navigator software for the CE240W is very similar to the CG
version, but at present without the L* gamma setting, which I believe does
give better grey balance.
After calibrating the grey balance was still very good, and a grey ramp in
PhotoShop showed a difference of 1 L in the shadows and highlights.
On looking at a number of images simultaneously on both screens the match
was excellent.
The monitor profiles show a similar gamut.
The main difference is the viewing angle which is less with the CE240W, not
suitable for a number of people reviewing images. This is, I am informed,
due to the differing screen technology used for the CE series.
So a screen with a large working space, with good colour accuracy, for one
person to use?
Regards
