Hi Peter,
I would not do that.
It increases black but will not improve the gray stabilization
in an optimal way.
The ideal situation would be using the original
characterization data (such as Fogra27) and
change the length and width of K.
As soon as you do that, in a good editor,
your CMY values will decrease.
Bumping K in your CTP won't reduce CMY nor will it give
you the right color.
