Andrew,
In case I was not clear, the only adjustments I make are to adjust for
variations in exposure that I may not able to compensate for while shooting
a fast-moving event (I am primarily a sports photographer). These
adjustments are made in the Exposure Tool panel in C1 by adjusting the
Exposure Compensation slider. This does not effect color whatsoever.
Occasionally I arrive at an event and am unable to do a proper in-camera
Gray Balance for one reason or another. So, I shoot a frame with a gray
target and later apply that gray balance to the entire take in C1. I don't
consider that making a color adjustment either -- all I am doing is making
up for the inability to do the gray balance in-camera.
What I am saying is that I NEVER - repeat, NEVER - make *color* adjustments,
in converting from RAW to Adobe98 TIFs. I have no need to do so, thanks to
my camera profile.
In fact, I must admit that while writing this I had to switch over to C1 to
see if it even had the ability to adjust color! I "discovered" that C1 does
allow you to adjust both curves and levels in individual channels, but I
have literally *never* done that.
Thanks,
Mark
