Hi Greg,
Imagemagick Identify is a free commandline tool to do this.
Look under www.imagemagick.org
Best regards,

Hi,
This is a bit off topic. I'm looking for an application (Win XP) to
examine image files of various formats, and identify what they are
(format), what color space they are, if they comply with known
specs for
their file type, or if they are written to a particular version. In
general this is a preflight need - but no need for Postscript or
PDF. I
have contacted Markzware about FlightCheck.
Any suggestions you can provide are appreciated.
Thanks and have a great Thanksgiving.
Greg
