Bob,
I have just noted on this list that users have often advocated the
use of BasICColor on the CG series to obtain the most neutral and
smoothest greyscales. As B&W is a key interest of mine I just wanted
to gain as much information in this area as possible. I have run
Color Navigator using L* mode and it looked pretty good. I ran the
same calibration using a demo of BasICColor (i1 pro, same luminance
of 120 and L* but using 16bit LUT v4 profile with Chromatic
adaptation CAT02) and just noted that the calibration seemed to
produce a more abrupt transition into the darker tones than I
expected. I am curious about the profile selection options LUT v
matrix and what the Chromatic Adaptation options are suitable/
desirable.
I am just looking for a range of experience before the 14 day trial
ends to decide if I should purchase or not.
I also have profile maker at my disposal as a comparison.

Simon,
Just ordered my CG210 (they are getting a lot cheaper now that the
211 is on the horizon). So why do you want to use BasicColor when
the monitor comes with its own dedicated ColorNavigator calibration
and profiling software? Just curious.

I have just acquired a new CG210. I was wondering if some users of
the CG210 and BasICColor 4 could run me through their calibration
routines? Is it necessary to run Color navigator first to set
luminance and Gamma or L* first or just let BasICColor do the lot.
What about profile type (matrix ot LUT)? and chromatic adaptation?.
