I am having difficulties in getting files I create in Photoshop to open up
in Fireworks with the same color. After googling this a bit on the web, I
came across a post on a blog titled, ³Color between Photoshop and Flash:
What¹s the deal??² by John Nack.
On this blog, John had a link to a video tutorial by Myke Ninness that
recommended converting images in Photoshop to sRGB before saving them for
import to Flash. My goal is not to import directly into Flash from
Photoshop, but rather into Fireworks first and then into Flash. I presumed
that importing from Photoshop to Fireworks would be similar to importing
from Photoshop to Flash, in terms of color. My testing seems to show this to
be the case. So, I followed the recommendation.
Although my results are better because of the sRGB conversion, they are
still a fair bit off, especially when using Photoshop¹s Save for Web¹
feature. I ran some tests exporting both PNGs (my preference) and JPGs using
both Save for Web and Save As. I then opened these files in both Photoshop
and Fireworks and took a screenshot. I have uploaded the screenshot to the
address below...

Can anyone give me any info as to what else I could do to improve the color
fidelity between Photoshop and Fireworks/Flash? I would appreciate any
suggestions.
OSX 10.3.9
Adobe Creative Suite 2 Premium: Photoshop 9.0.1
Macromedia Studio MX: Fireworks 6.0, Flash 6.0 r25
