Hi. I just upgraded from my UV DTP-41 to a DTP 70 (I now have user selectable UV cut-off. Who hoo!). I use MonacoPROFILER 4.8. I build profiles for photo papers with brighteners and proofing papers without.
Does MonacoPROFILER still not correct for UV?
Correct. Monaco Profiler does not have a software UV correction.
I have an old UV lamp my geologist dad used to use when examining stones & gems. I was planning on using it to check for fluorescence. Would that be a sound method?
Yes, the UV lamp will show paper fluorescence. Papers with a Fluorescent Whitening Agent (FWA) will appear blue under a UV lamp. Papers without an FWA will appear violet. I use a pocket UV LED illuminator when I am in a store buying papers as a qualitative check for FWAs using this technique.
