Does anyone know what was done to the original Spyder to convert it to read flat screen displays as well as CRTs? That is, besides taking off the suction cups and dangling it. I am wondering if I can still use my original Spyder for flat screens somehow...or am I stuck and have to buy new hardware? I consider myself luck, from what I'm reading, my 21" Barco is still going strong.
The original CRT-only Spyder cannot be converted for use on CRTs. The firmware inside the later versions is totally revised, and the newer Spyder would have been calibrated for LCD as well as CRT. Besides, the LCD reading mode doesn't take something off, it adds things on, to the CRT Spyder.
