Well of course it's hard to guess why the OP arrived at
that value, so it was purely a guess on my part, and
therefore is likely to be wrong. The complete
list of possible explanations goes something like:
1) The test target white was really D50 (hard to make a
100% diffuse reflective target though).
2) The test target reference file labelled it's white patch as D50.
(strange, but who knows).
3) Profilemaker doesn't store the absolute white point, but stores
D50 for the white point instead (possible, if profile maker
was creating a hard coded, absolute only, scanner profile.)
4) It's some option used during profile making that caused this behaviour.
5) Colorthink is mistakenly returning the relative colorimetric white point,
rather than the white point tag.
6) Some option the user has selected has caused Colorthink to return the relative
colorimetric white point.
Unfortunately it's hard to eliminate any of these possibilities without
the actual profile, or some degree of cross checking.
Why so many people like to play the game of "I've got this profile,
can you guess what's wrong with it..", rather than simply supplying
the profile, I don't really understand.
Graeme Gill.
