How should they appear in a user interface? Just select them as a output
profile and simply ignore the input profile? This seems dangerous, as a
non checking user easily can take a wrong profile. As far as I know there
is no standard tag describing the source, allowing to check for
correctness. What to embed in final image?
If the source and destination profiles where identified, a userinterface
could be provided with some more confidence. The difficulty lays in
interoperability. Such a solution would be a solo dance.
Currently the gamut mapping, included in a device link, is used in
expert tools. The command line comes to mind or internal usage. Thats what
we and many others do.
kind regards
