Peter,
I recently purchased a BenQ FP241W and had the problem of getting the
luminance much below 200 cd/m2 following the standard instructions
with Eye-One Match. When I set the contrast and brightness controls
to 25 as the starting point, the monitor was successfully calibrated
and profiled.
Gamma: 2.2
Luminance: 120.8 cd/m2
Min: 0.2 cd/m2.
Hope this helps.
Regards,
Joel

We already run a lab of profiled 24 inch iMacs (white versions).
The display quality of the 24 inch iMacs does not meet our needs as
well as the 20 inch iMacs.
We try and aim for some where around 120 cdm brightness. However the
24 inch iMacs in our lab could not do this.
Even at minimum screen brightness workstation had brightness ranging
from 125 to 180 cdm.
This is too bright and inconsistent to have in our more color critical
labs. It's just fine else where - but not ideal.
Additionally at 'zero' brightness on the brightness slider the back
panel illumination on the 24 inch iMac is uneven (dim around the
edges).
