'Course I did.
50% in 8 bits =
either -> (128 * 100) / 255 = 50.196
or -> (127 * 100) / 255 = 49.804
I meant that, as the above shows, in an 8-bit environment it's not as "neat" as people may expect, once you lay bare the decimal digits. The numbers are not "nice and round". That was the "dark underbelly" I was referring to -- in jest.
Another one of my misunderstood silly jokes... :-(
