Viewing Conditions with LCD Monitors

Hi all,
We're planning an upcoming renovation of our graphics area.

I've seen specs for room luminance of 32, but this seems to be based on CRTs. Now that LCDs are the predominant monitor and the brightness is significantly higher--what should the room luminance be?

Thanks,
Richard
