I should also mention for those who are not in the habit of doing so that
this is also the main reason why stating a deltaE without stating which
formula you used is not as useful as it could be. You should get in the
habit of always stating a deltaE with respect to one of the formulas...
Also, if you want to see what kinds of differences we are talking about, go
to Bruce Lindbloom's site <http://brucelindbloom.com/> and navigate to the
color difference calculator. Put in any pair of colors and you will see the
color difference as calculated by many of the formulas. The differences you
will should be a good indication of why you need to specify which formula
you used..
