In relation with what you just mentioned, Marco, I
remember reading about variations between different
factories of the same company. Some may have better
quality control than others.

Does anyone has any input on the Epson K3 inks quality?
I¹ve never noticed any issues with replacing the K3 inks
(one or more) on the
consistency of the output. I¹m using both a 3800 and
2400.
In fact, I recall having to do this mid print (I never
replace the ink until
it is run out and ignore the flashing red light). Popped
in a new cart, the
printer took off and the print was spot on. Pretty
amazing. I guess it¹s
possible you got a dud. And its always a good idea to
give a new cart a good
shake up before popping it into the printer.
Another question that pops to mind is: was the ink
actually from the OEM or
from a third party?
I ask that because:
(a) I have never -- so far -- experienced such a
dramatic color shift in my
Epson 2200 after changing a cartridge;
(b) a third-party ink will almost certainly be off
somewhat when compared to
those from the OEM. Not to mention that the third-party
ink may mix for a
while with that from the OEM, creating an unprofilable
"bastard mix" until
the lines are thoroughly flushed.
