I have a friend who recently got a new inkjet printer. It's an epson
desktop model of the latest variety, can't recall the name or model.
Point is, this new printer is all about switching from his Mac OS 9
sytem to his new monster g5 something or other.
Along with that came a new epson with a postscript rip that runs on the
same computer that the designer is working on.
Printer I believe is USB.
Color is terrible.
Using the same paper as was used on the old Epson and OS 9, there was
acceptable color.
Now this color is beyond the scope of what any reasonable person who'd
been working in color in graphic arts for more than a year would accept
as normal.
It's too weak. It looks like a bad rgb->cmyk conversion as well.
Brownish casted like what us old camera guys would call un-masked color.
What are the steps to profiling this printer/rip combo?
is there a step by step doc or a how-to somewhere thay you might know
of?
I'd be mighty greatful.
tkz
