So, what does this mean to those of us who have spent 5K give or take on a
DTP 70 and Profiler software within the last year? Are they going to
continue supporting these devices even though they are not going to be
selling them?

I have been told that too, on the record. It's a result of the
Gretag/Xrite merger that the *hardware* line is getting pruned, Pulse
too has been discontinued. From this it seems that most of the
product line is now being consolidated around the EyeOne spectro head
technology.
The new, iSis is an interesting product, technologically more up to
date than DTP70 in some ways (barcode reader, solid state illuminants,
wide-body A3 model available), but it is indeed very different from
the old(er) Xrite product (diffraction grating where the DTP70 was
filter based).
