What ever happened to the SpectroCam? Doesn't anyone use it anymore? Is
it not supported by the latest software, is that why? It was/is a very
good instrument with 70 spectral bands and a pulsed Xenon light source.

David

Re. the spikes, so far so good. My feeling is
that most inksets are
designed to avoid spikes and that's why having a Led illuminant works
well.
The fact that the blue from the LED is fairly broad (compared
to the narrow spikes that you get from mercury in a standard
fluorescent lamp) would help, but it's still rather bumpy
compared to an incandescent lamp, and phosphors degrade.
Are there any general-use spectros using LED
illuminants (eg.
instruments from Minolta ?)
Well of course the DataColor PrintFixPro2.0 uses LED's,
but in the reverse configuration from usual spectrometers
(narrow band illumination, wide band detector).
