It's my understanding the "native" color space of ACR is Prophoto or at
least the primaries of Prophoto. Other specs including gamma correction,
white point and else I don't know. Two generic camera profiles would serve
the purpose of "input" profiles and one can freely output in the 4 specified
working spaces.
According to this and if correct the conversion from ACR to the output space
should be processed with a relative intent. But it's unclear how the generic
profiles work : in simplified terms would they allow a perceptual rendering
into the Prophoto space from the demosaiced file ? Demosaicing is far more
complex than just this, but in case it takes the form of a matrix transform
for RGB color encoding after the CFA interpolation and color reconstruction
it is meant to also be a relative rendering. In fact I wonder if there is
any perceptual transform at any step in the whole process from raw to Adobe
working spaces.
