Speaking for myself, it's not the measurement data that I am referring to when I talk about the usefulness of being told which parameters were used in the creation of an output profile. Though having the measurement data handy is always helpful, what concerns me far more is to be given the black generation, CMYK Max and Black Max parameters, so that I can judge for myself whether or not those suit my specific needs. For example, if I wish to preserve neutrality on press, a profile that creates a low level of black generation will not do.
On the other hand, it's also true that I can figure out what sort of black generation, TAC and max black a profile creates. There are tools that allow me to do that (ColorThink, for example, and Photoshop itself). But making those data available without being forced to fish for them and guess is what I would see as more constructive industry-wide.
Regards.
