Agreed - if you start out at a different out-of-gamut color then you'll get
mapped to a different place on the printer gamut. Although the inkings &
initial Lab colors differ between the 2 profiles, my analysis supports the
argument that these colors will print Blue and not Purple.
Here are the numbers on the ECI RGB profile.
profile: ECI-RGB.icc'
RGB = [ 0 0 1]
L a b
33.5 46.9 -109.0
C M Y K (Relative Colorimetric)
0.96 0.62 0.00 0.00 USSheetfedCoated
1.00 0.72 0.00 0.00 USWebCoatedSWOP
Hue Angles of above colors:
Hue (radians)
4.72 USSheetfedCoated
4.72 USWebCoatedSWOP
Again, same qualitative results as sRGB with respect to the criteria I
discussed:
i) Cyan > Magenta
ii) Hue angles of mapped colors the same
