(The following is both a question and an observation. It is based on
the state of my understanding, or perhaps mis-understanding, of Apple's
operating system(s).)

I have never seen what I could comfortably term an adequate explanation
of the label "ColorSync".

On this web site: http://www.gballard.net/psd/cs.html

G. Ballard says: "ColorSync is - merely - a Color Management System
CMS/CMM). Adobe (ACE), Heidelberg, Agfa, and Kodak CMS/CMMs are also
individual Colour Management Systems (CMS)" ....

Is ColorSync truly Apple's CMS?

Certainly the lines between the tool - ColorSync as a Color Management
System - and the use of it - Color Management - are easily blurred.

If it is true that ColorSync is Apple's CMS then almost anything
impinging on Color Management + the Apple Operating System is fodder for
these discussions.
