Hi Ken, Tobie, list
sorry for the false alarm: to test I was changing monitor profiles on
the fly (between a profile with gamma 1.8 and 2.2)
PhotoShow does account for the profile changes as soon as the window
with the image is clicked.
In Preview app sometimes it suffices to close and re-open the image,
sometimes it is necessary to quit and reopen the app.
In the end both look the same.
That was the source of confusion.
Cheers
Mark

Is it possible that Preview app does not actually use the embeded ICC
profiles of jpeg files?
My images look very different in Preview vs Photoshop CS 3.
How can this be?
I get a match between Photoshop and Preview for tagged images, and
I get different results in Preview if I mistag an image (if it was
ignoring the tag, this wouldn't happen), so I'd say its working
right in general, and you may have a problem in your workflow.
