I am experiencing the same exact unorthodox behavior in CS3 with my MacBook
Pro, using the same image of the little girl and Carlo's "UPM
brite52_260GCR4+.icc" profile. It happens using the Adobe (ACE) CMM with all
4 rendering intents.
One interesting twist, though, is that changing the CMM in the "Convert to
Profile" dialog box from Adobe (ACE) to *Apple CMM* fixes the problem!
Another thing I noticed, by looking at the b015 tag [private (secret sauce)]
of this profile, is that it was made using binuscan AutoProfiler. Does
anyone know if there may be an incompatibility between profiles made with
that software and Photoshop CS3?
One last thing: using ColorShop X, I cannot load this profile at all into
that app's "Profile Viewer" utility. It just ignores it completely, as if
there were something about it that makes it unreadable.
My suspicion is that there is something non-standard or unorthodox about the
CMYK profile that Carlo received. Maybe others more experienced than myself
can peek at it and report their findings. I am curious to know more about
it.
