Derek,
I realize that your post is based on YOUR experience with these rips and
while a lot of you observations are right on, it appears you have a some of
your observations mixed up with the how these products actually work.

The GMG product supports both GMG device links and ICC profiles for RGB and
CMYK workflows. The DL option is quite a bit more powerful than the ICC
options.
As for you comments about the ColorBurst rip.
Well...yes you can down load pre made profiles, and if you cant find one
then you can contact ColorBurst to see if they will make you one.
And if that does not work then, like the rest of the rips you tested you
can can create custom icc profiles for any paper you want. So the CB rip
easily works both ways.
And while I am not a big fan of the Onxy rip (probably because I am not
using it everyday), some time ago I downloaded a document called
Onxy.calfile.pdf about how to set up the color management on the rip for
free (and I have even been able to set up a few of these rips. But then I do
have a working NFR dongle. I have found it takes about 6 hours to set this
rip up after you get the process down, so it is time consuming.
However, no matter what the rip is it is a time consuming process to figure
them out.
