Please note that the sound icon, Dolby Labs, has purchased Brightside technologies and has potential to resell the technology under OEM relationships to the major manufacturers.

3000:1 contrast using LCD and LED pairing:

The cool aspect is a near pure black from a LCD display of 0.015 cd/ m2 black level.
