Hi Ken,
I think I have been down your path before. If I understand correctly,
you are trying to have a screen display match your transparency on
the light box. I used to have many photographers approach me to try
to do this. We sold light boxes with dimmers on them, but when dimmed
the color temperature would shift. Some of them tried wrapping the
bulbs with neutral density filters with some pretty good results. We
used to stock the filters in 20 x 24 sheets and you could cut to
size. Another way was to place a filter under the top glass of the
viewer. But this way more likely to have an imperfection in the
filter show as a flaw in the transparency. I hope this is pertinent.

Andrew,
I really appreciate your input, but I can't help but feel that you are
somehow still missing the gist of my question. I'm hoping some
others might
like to chime in as well...
