Thats the type of direction that many licensing agreements attempt to move
people in. Certainly ColorVision's license allows for providing profiles as part
of consulting work, which avoids issues of selling them directly, and keeps
things off the web.

Special licensing is a good choice if you have unique needs, or need to
formalize a use thats not clearly covered in the standard license.

ColorVision's current License was an attempt to address complaints from
former discussions like this one. It is quite similar to what Karl described, mo
nitor profiling usage assumes that you purchase a Spyder for the site, which is
under an open site license, so thats not a high standard to meet. Printer
profiling restricts selling the profiles, though you can certainly charge for your
time as a consultant. Other details are aimed at avoiding having profiles
bundled with other companies hardware or software, sold on the web, etc.
